Calligraphy & Illustration Pricing Guide
Please note that these prices are a starting point, each individual project will vary.
Surfaces are not included in this pricing.
Dear Darling is located in Maryland, but willing to travel or ship.
Event Day Details
*Cost of Alternative Surfaces not Included. This is the base price, for basic white paper. Additional costs may occur for colored or specialty paper, alternative surfaces, or larger sizes.

Some of our favorite alternative surfaces to work with for place cards and table numbers are: Agate slices, marble, acrylic, handmade paper, painted paper, painted acrylic, sea shells, sea glass, rocks, and more! We can letter on pretty much any surfaces, which has made surface place cards our specialty. You can check out our Etsy shop to see all the surfaces we offer and specific pricing for each HERE.
Seating Charts, Welcome Signs & Large-Scale Signage
*Cost of surface not included. You may provide the surfaces, or I can source them for you and add the cost to your invoice.
Seating Chart | Mirror, Acrylic, Glass, or Chalkboard
Base Fee for Design & Layout starting at $150
This includes names and table numbers aligned to the left for up to 7 tables and 50 guests in block lettering or calligraphy.
Additional guests over 50 - $2.00 Per Guest
Additional tables over 7 - $3.00 Per Table.
If you would like your seating chart aligned in the middle there will be an additional fee.
If you are using a hard to work with surface like wood, or something that needs specific tools, there will be an extra fee.

Large Scale Signage (Quotes, Menus, etc)
Starting at $200 and upwards, depending on Square Footage, Text & Surfaces.

A standard envelope is 4 lines (recipient, street address, city, state and zip).

Return Address Writing
(Couple’s return address on Back Flap) - $2.50 each
Return Address Design (To be used for Return Address Stamp) - Starting at $75.00
*Recommended, you can use it again at a later date. I will help you find a great stamp vendor.
Return Envelope Addressing
(for RSVP envelopes) - $2.50 - $4.00 each, depending on style, size & color
Wax Sealing and Stuffing
*Cost of wax and sealing coin not included. If you chose to use a coin we already have, that's free of charge but wax will be added to bill. Postage not included, but we can mail them for you for cost of postage.
Wedding Invitation Suite Design
Custom invitation suite design from start to finish. Total branding for your event! All of my suites are custom designed, so it will reflect your soul and personality, and no one will ever have one just like it!
Custom Invitation Suites range from $1,000 - $6,000 depending on the amount of cards, printing methods used, add-ons, etc. Please head to our stationery questionnaire for a quote.
We offer handmade paper suites, hand painted with watercolors, and totally hand lettered. Those will have a larger investment then printed invitations. We can also add some hand painted elements to your printed suites.
On-Site Calligraphy or Live Painting
Branded & Store Events, Live Painting for Weddings and Events, On-Site Personalization, etc.
$100.00 - $125.00 per hour
Rate will depend on details of the event. Materials are extra.
Workshops or Paint Night
Calligraphy and painting workshops are available for parties and events. A two hour class is $250 - Supplies not included.
Dear Darling Design Studio has an event minimum of $200. Travel and Expenses for Non-Local Events not included.
Indoor and Outdoor Mural Painting
$100 base design fee - to make sure your mural is going to look exactly how you want it to + on sight hourly rate.
Window or Chalkboard Designs
For Restaurant menus, shop displays, specials boards, etc.
$100 base design fee + on site hourly rate.
On Sight Hourly Rate
$100.00 - $125.00 per hour
Rate will depend on details of the project. Materials are not included, an invoice will be sent with material costs.
